As you can see from the underlying graphics, for the first time this year we will be present in two different booths at the EMO exhibition in Hannover, Germany; from September 18th – 23rd, 2017.
The first will be in HALL 17, BOOTH D72, where we will show the advantages of producing in a flexible way through the Flexible Production Method, which consists of producing only the sold quantities, without unnecessary stock, producing more cash for your bank account.
You find yourself in front of a machine tool and you start getting production scrap rejected by the testing personnel.
At the same time, the customer is calling to find out when the products will be delivered.
That’s when the nightmare starts.
If you use machine tools, at one point or another you have certainly been faced with this situation, when nothing make sense, time does not seem to exist and the stress level is sky high.
Machine tools also require periodical preventive maintenance checks, such as oil change, filter change, various steps, but too often, after having checked the basic elements, we forget about the geometric check.
Over the course of the past century, it has been a race to cut down on the cycle time, trying to produce components as fast as possible in order to obtain the highest hourly, daily or monthly production rate possible so as to be competitive on the market.
This has led companies such as PORTA SOLUTIONS to develop transfer machines that were faster and faster as well as high-performing, with innovative solutions aimed at reducing idle times.
A practical example of this race towards higher and higher productivity rates is represented by a machine produced for years. This machine was able to produce 4,500 nuts per hour, which means that it took 0.8 seconds to make one nut.
The TRANSFER machines are veritable Formula One racecars, with exceptional speed performances, designed to produce 24/7. Even if against all intuition, this scenario changed after the crisis of 2008.
The first symptoms of this change were already seen in the early 1990s, however the change was very slow, still kept under control by the large request for volumes. With the events of 2008, everything has sped up.
In the video you will see the unexpected gift that on Monday 3rd July we have delivered to our President Oscar Porta in order to celebrate his 80° Birthday, with almost 300 people.
As you will see, we have rebuilded the first PORTA machine, dated 1958, completely redecorated and running.
Here you find the video of the evening:
