Today I want to unveil the secret that allowed me to exterminate competition!
Because now we are in a dominant position. Also, if reveal this secret, I have a TECHNICAL-PRODUCTIVE-TIME advantage of 13 years, which, even if unveiled now, cannot be exploited by others …
Here’s the story …
In 2005 few people believed in this machining process. 99% of our machines were high-production TRANSFER machines, with the aim of always being faster than the previous model.
While today …
It all seems so logical, the lean manufacturing of the Multicenter, but over these years many things have happened, first of all the crisis of 2008 that turned the world on its head permanently.
Nowadays, purchasing a tool machine is anything but easy.
I am sure that if you have ever been involved in this situation in any way, the memories you associate with the supplier selection phase do not bring back feelings of PEACE OF MIND and TRANQUILLITY, but quite the opposite.
For production machinery of a certain range (not the simple lathe or mill), where the value of the investments is high, the decision maker for the purchase is sure to feel high levels of stress.
When the management assigns a person or group the task of choosing a supplier, at that precise moment they place a very heavy load on the shoulders of that person or group which, on a psychological level, is certainly significant.
This is a great burden.
First of all, different parties usually end up paying the consequences of a wrong investment, and no one is benefited; here is a list of the parties involved:
Today I visited a customer in Bologna, and I was told that compared to
special transfer machines for high production on one side and standard machining centers on the other side, the STRENGTH of the MULTICENTER is its:
As I was returning to my factory, these words were rumbling in my head the entire time …
At first they seem to be in contrast with each other, but, thinking about it carefully, these two words define the MULTICENTER well.
Why do I say this?
Because of our busy production schedule, we had resigned ourselves to not being able to show our MultiCenter at the IMTS tool show in September. This bothered me personally, as I have been going to the show in Chicago since I was a child, traveling with my father.
Over the years, I have watched the show expand both in size and importance to become one of the preeminent machine tools shows in the world – rivaled only by EMO here in Europe. At the same time, our sales in North America have also grown, until today that market, along with Europe, is our largest.
So, after long consideration (and strong encouragement from the Porta North American offices), I tasked my production team to come up with a way to free up one machine to exhibit at IMTS, then delivered directly to a North American customer.
This is where you can help.
With an order commitment for a Multicenter 3spindles machine by end of June 2018, Porta Solutions will cover all expenses for machine packing, shipment, duty, and insurance to your factory door. This will result in a savings of 9% of the overall price of the machine.
