Let me explain: having nothing to say on the basic technical side that is the foundation of a machine tool, manufacturers create needs in other areas making believe that they are indispensable, just because the competition does not have them, so as to differentiate themselves.

This technique is adopted when you do not have anything new to say at the machine data base level or when your machine data are identical to all the others and, to make you perceive an extra value, you start to take this path.

If you delete all the MARKETING communications and go straight to the machine data only, you will notice that the machines are 99% all the same.

You will also notice that for years they have always been the same, concepts that you could see for 10 or 20 years.

The second point is: THE RIGHT MACHINE ACCESSORIES

Once you have chosen the machine and you have taken away the weight of this choice, the accessories are just as important for the success of the entire project.

Unfortunately, I have seen numerous times the accessories being underestimated and being added after delivery at much higher costs and the additional cost of lost production at the start of the project.

The third point is: THE RIGHT FIXTURE

Even this point, as you can imagine, is crucial and is often assessed separately only after the purchase of the machine and not in an integrated way with the machine tool.

This often causes problems even if you have a good machine tool.  Maybe the typically good machine tool cannot support the fixture for this part.

The fourth point is: THE RIGHT TOOL

The same point of the previous point, the final result of the project is obviously also determined in the use of the right tools, because, if examined only later, it can be very limiting, for example too few spindle RPM available, or too little power or  torque at low RPMs.

Although apparently separate from the machine tool, automation must be designed from the beginning, I have seen cases of customers who bought one of our MULTICENTER, so a very flexible machine and then, after some time, have applied automation with little thought.

While the MULTICENTER is changed over in 15 minutes, the automation takes 45 minutes!! Flexible machine with rigid automation makes a rigid cell.

In short, the customer from the raw bar wanted a turnkey to get the finished piece, cleaned, marked and palletized in the box of his washing machine. So, we have dealt with:

  • TOOL DEVELOPMENT
  • RAW PART CUT
  • LOAD INTO MACHINE BY ROBOT
  • PART MACHINING AS PER DRAWING
  • PART DEBURRING
  • FINISHED PART DISCHARGE
  • MANIPULATION AND PART MARKING
  • PALLETIZING THROUGH SECOND ROBOT IN THE WASHING BOXES
  • HANDLING OF WASHING BOXES

The particularity and the advantage of the project is that, having medium-small batches, the customer performs the piece change interfacing only with the main panel of the machine, which, in addition to making software changes of the machine, passes information to the tools, to the robots, and to the marker so that the operator does not have to intervene on the various elements and make adjustments with separate set-ups.
